Bee Biosecurity

The Bee Biosecurity program will assist beekeepers with the costs associated with Best Management Practices that will improve honey bee health through pest monitoring and elimination of accumulated pathogens and pesticide residues in wax combs.


A Nova Scotia beekeeper that:

  • Is currently registered under the Farm Registration Act
  • Is currently registered under the Bee Industry Act
  • Has a minimum of 10 hives registered in 2018
  • Is at least 19 years of age

Deadline or important dates

Application intake period: February 1, 2019 to October 1, 2019  

Project completion period: April 1, 2018 to October 31, 2019

Claim Deadline:  November 30, 2019

How to Apply

Complete the Bee Biosecurity Program Application Form and submit to the Programs office.

Clients new to programs since 2019 must complete the Program Funding Registration (PFR) form. Returning clients to update PFR form as necessary.

NOTE: A picture of destroyed frames & foundations must be submitted with the claim.
