Bee Biosecurity

The Bee Biosecurity program assists beekeepers with the costs of best management practices that improve honey bee health through pest monitoring and elimination of accumulated pathogens and pesticide residues in wax combs.


A Nova Scotia beekeeper that:

  • is currently registered under the Farm Registration Act
  • is currently registered under the Bee Industry Act
  • has a minimum of 10 hives registered in 2019
  • is at least 19 years of age

Deadline or important dates

Program Opening: April 1, 2020

Application Due: October 31, 2020

Claim Deadline: December 1, 2020

How to Apply

Complete and submit the application form to the Programs & Business Risk Management office.

Clients new to programs since 2018 must complete the Program Funding Registration (PFR) Form. Returning clients are to update their PFR Form as necessary.

NOTE: A picture of destroyed brood frames (sawed or cracked in half) must be submitted with the claim.
