Soil and Water Sustainability Program

The Soil and Water Sustainability Program helps farmers mitigate on-farm environmental risk for soil and water as identified in their individual Environmental Farm Plans that accelerate environmental farm stewardship in Nova Scotia.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

  • have a current farm registration
  • be at least 19 years old
  • report farming income and expenses that show gross commodity income of at least $30,000

Deadline or important dates

There are 2 intake periods for applications:

Spring 2022
Program opening: 1 April, 2022
Application deadline: 15 June, 2022
Claim deadline: 31 August, 2022

Fall 2022
Program opening: 15 August, 2022
Application deadline: 15 September, 2022
Claim deadline: 31 December, 2022

How to apply

Complete the application and submit it to the Programs Division office.

If you're new to agriculture funding programs since 2018, you also need to complete the Program Funding Registration form. If you're a returning client, you can use the form to update your information.
