Modifications Needed

The value of h will replace the text "NS Government Search", in the Department or Agency Identification area of the result page. By default, the text is "NS Government Search".

The value of j will link back to the Department or Agency Identification site from the result page. Input the Department or Agency Identification folder in the value of j.

Enter your collection name in the value of site. If you do not have a collection, contact Service Nova Scotia or you can use site search.

To use site search, replace the line;

  • <input type="hidden" name="site" value="" />
  • with
  • <input type="hidden" name="sitesearch" value="" />.

Enter the complete URL* of the site you wish to search into the value of sitesearch.

*Please Note:

If your site is using a virtual domain (e.g.: museums.novascotia.ca), use your virtual domain.

Do not add a trailing slash (colored in red in the example below) after the URL.

If you do, the GSA will limit its search to just the files in the root of your site and so files in subdirectories of your site will not be found.

E.g.: https://novascotia.ca/sns/

Enter the URL** of your contact page in the value of c. The contact link is in the footer of the search result page.

**Please Note: Start with department folder, not a slash. Add subfolder (if any) and file (if any).

E.g for SNS contact page https://novascotia.ca/search/contact/contact.asp

<input type="hidden" name="c" id="c" value="sns/gsa/contact/contact.asp" />

Enter text for the hyperlink of the contact link (in the footer) in the value of n.

If you want to replace the current background image with your image, enter the ***URL of the image in the value of i.

***Please Note: Start with department folder, not a slash. Add subfolder (if any) and file. If you do not want to replace the image, please delete this line of code.

E.g for SNS image, https://novascotia.ca/sns/image/gsaBkg.jpg

<input type="hidden" name="i" id="i" value="sns/gsa/image/gsaBkg.jpg" />
