Who Needs This Licence?
Anyone who wants to keep wildlife in captivity for display purposes in a private park in Nova Scotia.

Application Forms & Process:
An applications is made by letter to the Wildlife Division office of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources in Kentville.

An inspection is required before the licence can be approved. There are required specifications for cages and facilities.

The applicant will be notified by the Director of Wildlife if the licence is approved.

Waiting Period:
40 business days
Expiry & Renewal:

This permit is valid for 1 year from the date it is issued, and can be renewed. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to initiate the renewal process at least two months prior to expiry date.

Related Requirements:
  1. Conformity with Municipal bylaws;

  2. Appropriate contact with the local branch of the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
