With this Licence, there are two different
ways to submit your application form:
A) You can send in a hard copy. You can get a form by:
(1) downloading
a form from our
website;
(3) calling, writing or visiting the Licensing Section office listed above.Â
You can pay by Visa, MasterCard or American Express Credit Card. We cannot accept any form of Debit cards at this time.
Information you will need to fill out your application form:
- Provide the date your examination was written and your exam
mark.
Applicants for an LLQP Life,
Accident & Sickness License & an LLQP Accident & Sickness
Only License must provide proof of
successful completion of the Life Licensing Qualification Program
(LLQP) prior to writing the provincial licensing exam. To view

- Details are required if you have

- had a licence or registration refused suspended, revoked or
subject to a disciplinary hearing
- been convicted of, or are currently charged, with an offence
- been involved in a personal or corporate bankruptcy within
the past six years
- have any unpaid judgements against you
- had any employment or business relationship terminated for
breach of trust or confidentiality, fraud, misappropriation of
funds, theft, forgery, sexual harassment or physical assault

- Name and address of the Agency where you
will be employed, if applicable.
- If you are a director, officer or employee of a bank, loan
corporation, finance or trust company specify the name(s) and
address(es).
- For general agents only, and if monies are payable to you,
provide name and address of financial institution in which you
deposit all monies.
- Three years of employment history.

The completed application is submitted to the Department, along with the
applicable fee (see Price below).
Applicants must successfully complete the prelicensing examination
administered by the Office of the Superintendent of Insurance.
Within 3 months of passing that examination, applicants must submit
a completed individual application form to the Department, along with
the applicable fees (see Price below). That form must also be signed
by a sponsor who is an Insurer that is licensed to operate in Nova Scotia.
The Department will do a background check on the applicant.
If the applicant is a non-resident, a Certificate of Authority from
the jurisdiction in which the applicant resides must be provided.
If all requirements are met and the application is approved, the licence
will be mailed to the applicant. |
