Wildlife Export Permit

Who Needs This Permit? |
| Anyone who wants to export out of Nova Scotia any live wildlife, or
wildlife hides, pelts, carcasses or parts of a carcass.
Note: This permit does not authorize export of CITES listed species outside
of Canada. (See Wildlife: CITES Export Permit.)

Application Forms & Process: |
| Application can be made in person or by phone at the nearest Local
or Area Offices of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources.
The applicant must prove that the animal or animal part was obtained legally.
If all requirements are met and the application is approved, the permit
will be issued by staff of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources.

Expiry & Renewal: |
| This permit is valid for 1 month from the date it is issued. The permit
is not renewable.

Additional Information: |
|
- Separate Export Permits are not required for a species legally
possessed by a non-resident hunter under a Deer,
Bear, and Small
Game Hunting Licence, because the hunting licence acts as an
export permit.
- No agent, transportation company or other common carrier shall receive,
transport or deliver any wildlife or parts thereof (including meat)
unless the shipment is tagged or labelled with the name, Licence number
and description of content.
- This permit enables movements of species not listed in the Convention
on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), to any destination.
- This permit enables movement of CITES listed species to other provinces
in Canada.
- This permit does not authorize export of CITES listed species
outside of Canada (See CITES Export Permit).
