| Who Needs This Permit? | ||
| Any resident of Nova Scotia who wants to keep a bird of prey (raptor) in their possession to use in the sport or business of falconry. (This includes falcons, merlins, hawks, etc.) | ||

| Application Forms & Process: | ||
| The application information can be sent to the Wildlife Division of
the N.S. Department of Natural Resources. Before an application is made,
a two-year apprenticeship is required with a licensed falconer (2 years).
As well, the Falconer that the apprenticeship was completed under needs to submit a letter of recommendation to the Wildlife Division.
If all requirements are met and the application is approved, the permit will be sent to the applicant by mail. |

| Expiry & Renewal: | ||
This permit is valid for 1 year from the date it is issued, and can be renewed. It is the responsibility of the permit holder to initiate the renewal process at least two months prior to expiry date. |
