Copy of letter from Donald McLean to S.P. Fairbanks, Commissioner of Crown lands regarding reply to Fairbanks' letter in which a complaint was laid against McLean for trespassing on Mi'kmaq land. McLean states that he leases meadow land from a Mi'kmaq for cutting hay.

Copy of a letter from William Faulkner to James B. Uniack, Commissioner of Crown Lands, regarding the report of an examination of the Mi'kmaq reserve at Middle Stewiacke into land titles and estimates of land value. Included is a list of occupants and value of land and a map detailing the various lots. Faulkner was unable to complete a land survey because the present owners of the land, who had bought the land from Mi'kmaq, were afraid a survey might determine that some of the land still belonged to the Mi'kmaq.

Copy of letter from John D. Pinkham to P. Morris requesting permission to buy land owned by Mi'kmaq "Joseph Elvin" located on "Long Island, Ohio." Pinkham and his family would like to move there from Barrington. The letter suggests that Long Island is In the vicinity of Shelburne.

Copy of a letter from W. J. Morris to J. S. Morris, Commissioner of Crown Lands, reporting on his investigation into a dispute over land at Indian Point claimed by several people.

Copy of petition from 18 Mi'kmaq families of Pomquet to Lieutenant General Sir James Kempt requesting the return of land on which they have resided for a number of years. In return, the Petitioners will give up all claims on a reserve. (Note on book states 1822.)

Report of a Committee on Bronley Petition, 4 Apr. 1819, which finds that two settlements of Mi'maq have been made, one at Shubenacadie and one at Gold River (near Chester) and that considerable improvements have been made at the latter, that a sum of money still remains from the vote of 1817, and that a small grant is recommended for aiding the petitioners who wish to improve the "lot" of the Mi'kmaq.
