Cherry Hill

Cherry Hill Cherry Hill Beach Nature Reserve protects a 2 km long barrier beach and dune system between the communities of Broad Cove and Voglers Cove in western Lunenburg County.

This is a nesting refuge for endangered piping plovers and used as a staging area by other shorebirds. The nature reserve complements the Nova Scotia Nature Trust’s work to acquire and protect several nearby coastal properties.

Access on foot is permitted. Dogs must be kept on a leash to avoid disturbing piping plovers and other wildlife. Clam digging and hunting below the high-water mark behind the beach complex is not affected by the nature reserve designation.
