Work continues to build awareness among senior public servants regarding Treaty Education.
Treaty Education worked with academics, consultants and Mi’kmaq knowledge holders to develop a full-day workshop that is now available for public servants through the learning centre.
The film We are All Treaty People and interactive session has been incorporated into the Diversity and Inclusion course offered by the Public Service Commission. It includes discussion on what it means for each of us to be Treaty people, in our work and personal lives.
The KAIROS Canada Blanket Exercise has been attended by hundreds of civil servants and is now recognized as a component of the Certificate in Diversity and Inclusion Development. The Blanket Exercise is an interactive workshop that uses blankets arranged on the floor to represent the land and participants step into the roles of First Nations, Inuit and later Metis peoples to understand how colonization impacts those who were here before settlers arrived.
