Catalone Gut Beach Designation
made under subsection 5(1) of the
Beaches Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 29th day of June, A. D., 1978, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Catalone Gut Beach, in the County of Cape Breton, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-91, marked Schedule “B”, and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
Schedule “A”
All that certain lot, piece, parcel or tract of land situate, lying and being adjacent to Mira Bay, in the County of Cape Breton, Province of Nova Scotia and designated as Catalone Gut Beach as shown on a Plan of Survey filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office at Halifax as Crown Land Records No. E-7-91, the said parcel being more particularly bounded and described as follows:
Commencing at Land Registration and Information Service Monument No. 22438, being (by grid bearings based on the Nova Scotia three degree Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 4, Central Meridian sixty-one degrees thirty minutes West Longitude) south forty degrees thirty-five minutes twenty seconds east from Nova Scotia Control Monument No. 1639;
Thence south eighty-nine degrees eight minutes twenty seconds east, nine hundred nine decimal seven three feet to a point;
Thence north fifty-five degrees twenty-six minutes zero seconds east, five hundred seventy-four decimal five six feet to a point;
Thence north eighty-three degrees six minutes twenty seconds east, five hundred thirty decimal zero seven feet to Iron Post No. 1 hereinafter referred to as the place of beginning;
From Thence south thirty-seven degrees thirty-eight minutes fifty seconds east, six hundred nineteen decimal eight two feet to Iron Post No. 2;
Thence south forty-two degrees two minutes forty seconds east, three hundred ten decimal four seven feet to Iron Post No. 3;
Thence south fifty-four degrees forty-two minutes forty seconds east, eight hundred three decimal six six feet to Iron Post No. 4;
Thence south sixty-three degrees thirty-five minutes fifty seconds east, six hundred three decimal three nine feet to Iron Post No. 5;
Thence south seventy-one degrees forty-two minutes thirty seconds east, six hundred seventy-four decimal zero nine feet to Iron Post No. 6;
Thence south eighty-three degrees fifty-two minutes forty seconds east, three hundred thirty-eight decimal three eight feet to Iron Post No. 7;
Thence north fifty-five degrees eight minutes zero seconds east, one hundred seventy-seven feet, more or less, to point No. 1 on the mean high watermark of Mira Bay as shown on said Plan E-7-91;
Thence in a northwesterly direction along the mean high watermark of Mira Bay, three thousand five hundred eighty feet, more or less, to point No. 2 as shown on said Plan E-7-91;
Thence south thirty-five degrees forty-eight minutes zero seconds west, seventy-six feet, more or less, to Iron Post No. 8;
Thence south two degrees fifty-four minutes zero seconds west, one hundred sixty-two decimal four nine feet to the place of beginning.
