Chance Harbour Beach Designation
made under subsection 5(1) of the
Beaches Act
R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 4th day of July, A.D., 1986, pursuant to Section 5(1) of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land situate at Chance Harbour, in the County of Pictou, lying landward from the mean high watermark and immediately adjacent thereto, the said land being shown outlined in red on the copy of Field Plot Plan No. P-077/86 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.
Schedule “A”
All that certain area lying landward from the mean high watermark of Northumberland Strait and being at Chance Harbour, in the County of Pictou, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on Plan of Survey (Field Plot No. P-077/86) signed on the 30th day of June, A.D. 1986 by John W. Ross, Nova Scotia Land Surveyor and filed in the Department of Lands and Forests Office, Halifax, the said area of land being more particularly described as follows:
Beginning at Survey Marker No. P2166 placed on the beach at the western end of Sinclairs Island and situate (by grid azimuths referenced to the Nova Scotia Three Degree Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude) 58° 12' 30", a distance of 140.48' from Nova Scotia Co-ordinate Monument #3558 having co-ordinate values (N 16 601 809.82', E 14 486 809.94');
Thence 165° 37' 17", a distance of 37.74' to Survey Marker P2165 situate on the northern margin of the Sinclair Road;
Thence westerly and southerly 385.02' along the arc of a curve having a radius of 360.00' along the curved margin of the northwestern boundary of the Sinclair Road to Survey Marker P2164 being 224° 01' 05", a distance of 366.94' from Survey Marker P 2165;
Thence 198° 32' 40", a distance of 122.39' along the western margin of Sinclair Road to Survey Marker P2163;
Thence 326° 20' 14", a distance of 286.35' to Survey Marker P2162;
Thence 286° 16' 39", a distance of 213.38' to Survey Marker P2161;
Thence 266° 04' 56", a distance of 275.78' to Survey Marker P2160;
Thence 300° 22' 28" a distance of 197.97' to Survey Marker P2159;
Thence 291° 24' 16", a distance of 171.11' to Survey Marker P2158;
