Lower Debert Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 75-1186 (October 21, 1975), N.S. Reg. 156/75


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 22nd day of September, A.D., 1975, pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 5 of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, the Beaches Preservation and Protection Act, is pleased to designate as a beach an area of land lying landward from the mean high watermark of Lower Debert Beach, in the County of Colchester, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown

outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Office Plan No. E-7-61 and described in Schedule “A”, both attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Lower Debert, County of Colchester, Province of Nova Scotia as shown on plan of survey number E-7-61 on file in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at an iron post situated on the top of a dyke and situate a distance of 75 feet from the center line of a public road to the beach;


From thence (by astronomic bearings) S 73° 19' 49" E, 3201.09 feet along the top of the aforementioned dyke to an iron post;


Thence continuing S 73° 19' 49" E, 850 feet more or less, or to the mean high watermark of Cobequid Bay;


Thence following the mean high watermark of Cobequid Bay in a southeasterly then northwesterly direction to a point;


Thence N 16° 40' 11" E, 50 feet more or less to an iron post situate N 82° 42' 12" W, 512.26 feet from the place of beginning;


Thence continuing N 16° 40' 11" E, 83.43 feet to a point;


Thence S 73° 19' 49" E, 505.42 feet to the place of beginning.
