Queensport Beach Designation

made under subsection 5(1) of the

Beaches Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 32

O.I.C. 89-919 (August 8, 1989), N.S. Reg. 164/89


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 14th day of June, A.D., 1989, pursuant to subsection (1) of Section 5 of Chapter 6 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1975, as amended, the Beaches Act, is pleased to determine as a beach, within the meaning of the Beaches Act, an area of land situate at Queensport, in the County of Guysborough, lying landward from the mean high watermark and immediately adjacent thereto, the said land being shown outlined in bold line on the copy of Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre Plan No. E-15-25 marked Schedule “B” and described in Schedule “A”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation.



Schedule “A”


All those two certain areas of land and land covered by water at Queensport, in the County of Guysborough, Province of Nova Scotia, shown as Parcel A and Parcel B on a Plan of Survey (Field Plot No. P-035/89), marked Schedule “B” attached hereto, signed on the 31st day of March, 1989 by J. Edward Hanifen, Nova Scotia Land Surveyor and filed in the Provincial Crown Lands Record Centre, Dartmouth, N.S., as C.L.R. No. E-15-25 the said Parcel A and Parcel B being more particularly described as follows:


Parcel A


Beginning at Survey Marker (S.M.) 141 placed on the northern boundary of Highway No. 16 leading from Guysborough to Canso and being (by grid azimuth referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, zone 4, central meridian 61° 30' west longitude) 257° 27' 06", a distance of 461.83' from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument 24180 having coordinate values of 16 476 938.56' in northings and 14 825 323.36' in eastings;


Thence (from the place of beginning) 33° 45' 00", a distance of 450.00', to S.M. 142;


Thence 303° 45' 00", a distance of 36.77', to S.M. 143 set 30.3', more or less, from the ordinary high watermark of Chedabucto Bay;


Thence continuing 303° 45' 00", a distance of 150.00', to a point;


Thence 255° 17' 29", a distance of 1,296.65', to a point on the northern boundary of Highway No. 16;


Thence following the said northern boundary of Highway No. 16, 125° 39' 02", a distance of 200.00', to S.M. 130 marking a curve to the left of the said northern boundary of Highway No. 16 having a radius of 454.93';


Thence following the said curve to the left of the northern boundary of Highway No. 16, an arc distance of 316.80', to S.M. 132, said S.M. situate 105º 42' 00", a distance of 310.44', from the last mentioned S.M. No. 130;


Thence following the northern boundary of Highway No. 16, 85º 45' 00", a distance of 700.00', to the place of beginning.


The above described Parcel A contains an area of 9.74 acres, more or less.


Parcel B


Beginning at the point of intersection of the centreline of old Highway No. 16 and the southern boundary of the new Highway No. 16 leading from Guysborough to Canso, said point of intersection being (by grid azimuth referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, zone 4, central meridian 61º 30' west longitude) 251º 49' 47", a distance of 551.43', from Nova Scotia Coordinate Monument 24180 having coordinate values of

16 476 938.56' in northings and 14 825 323.36' in eastings;


Thence (from the point of beginning) following the southern boundary of Highway No. 16, 265° 45' 00", a distance of 621.77', to S.M. 133, marking the beginning of a curve to the right of the said southern boundary of Highway No. 16 having a radius of 520.93';


Thence following the said curve to the right of the southern boundary of Highway No. 16, an arc distance of 239.67', to a point, said point situate 278° 55' 52", a distance of 237.56', from the last mentioned S.M. 133;


Thence 142° 41' 19", a distance of 400.72', to S.M. 135;


Thence 88° 00' 19", a distance of 384.97', to S.M. 137;


Thence 57° 44' 19", a distance of 179.66', to a point;


Thence 22° 38' 19", a distance of 145.09', to a point;


Thence 12° 51' 19", a distance of 86.88', to the point of beginning.


The above described Parcel B contains an area of 4.39 acres, more or less.
