The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated June 20, 2025, and pursuant to Section 26DA of Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, is pleased to:
(a) re-appoint Luc Côté as an investigator for the purpose of the Serious Incident Response Team for a term of five years effective January 12, 2026;
(b) fix the remuneration of Luc Côté in an amount equivalent to Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC 12, 110%), effective April 1, 2025, at $4,701.11 biweekly (approximately $122,228.86 annually, before benefits), subject to all applicable enactments, regulations, and policies of the Public Service Commission with respect to non-bargaining unit civil servants, including economic increases for management and non-bargaining unit employees of government reporting entities, and compensation for overtime in accordance with the General Civil Service Regulations, made by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2024-86 dated February 27, 2024;
(c) order that Civil Service benefits be extended to Luc Côté as a Serious Incident Response Team investigator on the same terms and conditions as they are extended to non-bargaining unit civil servants; and
(d) direct that Luc Côté shall receive all the customary benefits of an employee under the Excluded Classification Pay Plan including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan.
