The Governor in Council, on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated January 25, 2024, and pursuant to Section 26DA of Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, is pleased to:
(a) appoint Jean-Marc Paré as an Investigator for the purpose of the Serious Incident Response Team for a term of five (5) years effective March 18, 2024;
(b) appoint Patrick Tardif as an Investigator for the purpose of the Serious Incident Response Team for a term of five (5) years effective May 1, 2024;
(c) fix the remuneration of Jean-Marc Paré and Patrick Tardif in an amount equivalent to Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC 12, 100%), currently $4,452.53 biweekly (approximately $115,763.18 annually, before benefits), subject to all applicable enactments, regulations, and policies of the Public Service Commission with respect to non-bargaining unit civil servants including applicable merit and pay structure adjustments, including overtime compensation in accordance with the General Civil Service Regulations;
(d) order that civil service benefits be extended to Jean-Marc Paré and Patrick Tardif as Serious Incident Response Team investigators on the same terms and conditions as they are extended to non-bargaining unit civil servants;
(e) direct that Jean-Marc Paré and Patrick Tardif shall receive all the customary benefits of an employee under the Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC 12), including participation in the Province of Nova Scotia Long Term Disability Plan; and
(f) order that, effective on and after February 27, 2024, all Serious Incident Response Team Investigators shall be entitled to overtime compensation in accordance with the General Civil Service Regulations, and for greater certainty includes Patricia Davis, appointed by Order in Council 2022-50 dated February 25, 2022, and Luc Cote, appointed by Order in Council 2021-2 dated January 11, 2021.
