The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Attorney General and Minister of Justice dated September 22, 2025, and pursuant to Section 26DA of Chapter 31 of the Acts of 2004, the Police Act, is pleased to:
(a) appoint Charles de Botton as an investigator for the purpose of the Serious Incident Response Team for a term of five (5) years effective on October 30, 2025;
(b) fix the remuneration of Charles de Botton in an amount equivalent to Excluded Classification Pay Plan (EC 12, 110%), currently $4,701.11 biweekly (approximately $122,228.86 annually, before benefits), including economic increases for management and non-bargaining unit employees of government reporting entities;
(c) order that civil service benefits be extended to Charles de Botton as a Serious Incident Response Team investigator on the same terms and conditions as they are extended to non-bargaining unit civil servants;
(d) order that Charles de Botton be eligible for overtime compensation in the same way as non-bargaining unit employees under the General Civil Service Regulations, in accordance with Order in Council 2024-86 dated February 27, 2024; and
(e) order that all other terms and conditions of the employment of Charles de Botton be the same as non-bargaining unit civil servants, including all applicable enactments, regulations and policies, but that Charles de Botton is not, by this order or otherwise, a civil servant.
