PREMIER--PREMIER CONGRATULATES PROVINCIAL EMPLOYEES ------------------------------------------------------------ Premier John Savage had strong words of praise today for the employees of the provincial government. They have just wrapped up their 1995 United Way fundraising campaign. They raised $250,000, an amount significantly better than the campaign target of $230,000. "Nova Scotia's provincial employees have shown that despite difficult times and reductions in staffing levels, their commitment to community agencies remains strong," said Premier Savage. "I for one am very proud of what has been accomplished through their generosity and their dedication to helping out their fellow Nova Scotians." The province's 1995 United Way campaign was headed up by Housing and Consumer Affairs Deputy Minister Gordon Earle and his department colleagues. Earlier today an awards ceremony was held to acknowledge those who helped bring the campaign to its successful conclusion. -30- Contact: Ann Graham Walker 902-424-2590 jlw Feb. 14, 1996 3:45 p.m.
