PREMIER--PROVINCE TO HONOUR NOVA SCOTIAN OLYMPIANS ----------------------------------------------------------------- The provincial government will host a reception for the almost two dozen Nova Scotians who participated in the Atlanta Olympic Games, Premier John Savage said today. "Nova Scotians were thrilled with the accomplishments of their provincial Olympic athletes," the premier said. "We are extremely proud of all our athletes. While not all athletes won medals, many of them established personal best efforts during the Games." The province's athletes demonstrated "the gritty determination that is so much a part of being a Nova Scotian and a Canadian," the premier said. In addition to the athletes, the reception will also honour coaches and trainers who were part of the Nova Scotia Olympic contingent. Details such as date, time and place will be announced shortly. -30- Contact: David Harrigan 902-424-6600 trp August 06, 1996 - 1:30 p.m.
