EDUCATION/CULTURE--CRAFT DISPLAY TO BE HOSTED ----------------------------------------------------------------- From September 25 to October 23 the Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design in Halifax, will host a craft display entitled "Studio Rally Crafts," promoting the craftspeople featured in the Studio Rally event. This display is part of the centre's production crafts display program, which allows the public to look at the work of Nova Scotia producers without the pressure to buy. Information is available for people who want to know where the products can be purchased. The program provides good samples of the range and quality of crafts available in the province. "Studio Rally Crafts" promotes a variety of beautiful crafts and products, such as wood furniture, stone sculptures, stained glass windows, woven jackets, musical instruments, colourful pottery, fine jewellery, decorative ironwork and much more. This display includes work from craftspeople located throughout Nova Scotia. From Halifax/Dartmouth: Artrage Studio, Blanket Statements, Costanzo Sculpture, Fine Wood Crafts & Heritage Toys, Hearthworks Design Studio, John Macnab, Lizzy Bugs, Mindy Moore & Tatjana Krizmanic, Mountain Hill Woodworking, Randy Engelberg, Reverie in Metal, and Van Dalen Pottery. From Cape Breton: Carol & Gordon Kennedy, Claire Ryder, Leather Works by John C. Roberts, Otis Tomas, and William Roach. From the Glooscap Trail: By the Door Hooked Rug Studio, and Raspberry Bay Stone. From the Evangeline Trail: Canaan Mountain Knitwear, Claude Chaloux, De Weever's Wovens, Earl and Sheila Young, Green Sheep Fibres, Grunts' Studios, Janet Pope, John Vanderweit, Landmark Designs Ltd., Louise Chisholm, Melanson Mountain Chairworks, Peter Lawrence & Brenda Dempsey, and Tangled Garden. From the Lighthouse Trail: Artifacts Craft Gallery and Studios, Beachcombings, Birdsall-Worthington Pottery, Clay Odyssey Studio, East Dover Ironworks, K.R. Thompson Potter, La Menagerie En Bois, Lunenburg County Winery, Lunenburg Forge and Metalworks, Pentz Pottery, Stephen Zwerling, and Tudor Tile. The Centre for Craft and Design is dedicated to preserving and promoting the craft industry of Nova Scotia. The centre is part of the cultural affairs division of the Department of Education and Culture.
