NEWS RELEASE (CNS611) -->> PUBLIC PROSECUTION SERVICE--NEW REGIONAL CROWN ATTORNEY PUBLIC PROSECUTION SERVICE--NEW REGIONAL CROWN ATTORNEY ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Public Prosecution Service has announced the appointment of a new regional Crown attorney for the western region. James H. Burrill will succeed Jack Buntain, who retired in August. Mr. Burrill has been a Crown attorney in the Shelburne office since 1987. He has been a senior Crown attorney since 1992. Mr. Burrill, a native of Shelburne, graduated from Dalhousie Law School in 1985. He also holds a Masters of Business Administration from Dalhousie. Mr. Burrill will be responsible for management and administrative duties in Kings, Annapolis, Hants, Digby, Queens, Lunenburg, Yarmouth and Shelburne counties. From the Shelburne office, he will supervise eight Crown attorneys. Jerry Pitzul, Director of Public Prosecutions, said Mr. Burrill's strong academic background and accumulated experience as a Crown attorney have prepared him for the challenging position of regional Crown attorney.
