TRANSPORTATION/PUBLIC WORKS-SCOTIAN FERRY SENT FOR REPAIRS ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Scotian ferry, servicing Brier Island, was temporarily put out of commission at approximately 9 a.m. this morning when it lost a propulsion leg while docking at Westport. This will not result in changes to the crossing schedule. Traffic was momentarily delayed as the Spray, a replacement ferry, was immediately brought into service. A time frame for the Scotian's return will be determined when the extent of the damage has been assessed. -30- Contact: Transportation & Public Works 902-424-8687 trp Nov. 19, 1996 - 1:20 p.m.
