PREMIER--PROVINCE TO ASSIST WITH JANET CONNORS LEGAL BILLS ----------------------------------------------------------------- The provincial government will provide Janet Connors of Dartmouth with $30,000 to help defray legal costs associated with her appearances before the Krever Inquiry into Canada's tainted blood system, Premier John Savage said today. "Janet has worked tirelessly on behalf of hemophiliacs infected with AIDS as the result of tainted blood. Her legal costs have been substantial. Janet has been acting on behalf of many, many Nova Scotians and we feel that it is only right that government try and assist Janet in any way that it can," the premier said. Ms. Connors contracted AIDS from her late husband, Randy, a hemophiliac who received tainted blood. -30- Contact: David Harrigan 902-424-3750 trp Mar. 27, 1997 - 12:15 p.m.
