EDUCATION/CULTURE--"A.C.T.S. 1, SEEN 1" ----------------------------------------------------------------- The Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design, 1683 Barrington Street, Halifax, is hosting a craft display entitled "A.C.T.S. 1, Seen 1" from April 9 to May 7, 1997. This display is a showing of the latest products from new exhibitors featured at the Atlantic Craft Trade Show in September 1996 and February 1997. The display is part of the centre's ongoing Production Crafts Display Program. This allows the public to look at the work of Nova Scotian producers without the pressure to buy. Information is made available for people who wish to know where the products can be purchased. It also provides good samples of the range and quality of crafts available in this province. "A.C.T.S. 1, Seen 1" promotes a variety of products, such as traditional teddy bears, picture frames, handmade paper, wood wimbles, silk scarves, fish pottery, and much more. This display includes work from craftspeople located throughout Nova Scotia: Buck's Bucktails & Streamers, Annapolis Royal; Cameo Frames, Stewiacke; Casey's Handycraft, Antigonish; Donna Jones Designs, Bridgewater; East Meets East Design, East Bay; Frank X Phillips, Walton; Hillfolk Design, Lunenburg County; Hollowood Studio, Dartmouth; Jo Beale, Peggy's Cove; Lighthouse Art Studio, Advocate Harbour; Longmire Flowers & Crafts, Annapolis County; ME Design Studios, Halifax; Miniature Heartbeats, Halifax County; Nicholson Photographic Inc., Hatchet Lake; Ocean Sculpture, Bridgewater; Pat Foote Pottery, Dartmouth; Saltwater Boxworks, Louisbourg; Scott Sinclair, Halifax; Shady Lady, Lunenburg County; Taste Of Nova Scotia Quality Food Council, Halifax; The Nitch For All Occasions, Pictou; The Rug Lady, Halifax; The Woodwright, Glace Bay; Tole Notions, Guysborough; Tole Strokes, Enfield; Touched By Grace, Yarmouth; Turnings For Tole, Sydney; and Windsor Bears, Windsor. The Nova Scotia Centre for Craft and Design is dedicated to developing and promoting the craft and design sectors of Nova Scotia. The centre is part of the Cultural Affairs Division of the Department of Education and Culture.
