PREMIER'S OFFICE--Holiday Message ----------------------------------------------------------------- A Christmas message from Premier Russell MacLellan: As we prepare to celebrate the holidays in Nova Scotia, I want to take this opportunity to extend the best of season's greetings to you. Hope, light, fulfilment and joy are some of the themes we commonly associate with Christmas. But they also have resonance for those of us who celebrate Hanukkah this time of year and for the non-religious among us who simply enjoy the festive season's spirit of goodwill, fellowship and caring. In short, the promise of this season embraces Nova Scotians in all walks of life and circumstances. Its spirit brings out the best in us. Amid all the hustle and bustle, there are always surprising examples of ordinary Nova Scotians with extraordinarily big hearts who have concerned themselves with the welfare of others --their neighbours, friends, family and, often, strangers. Nova Scotians are generous givers, and this time of year is no exception. Our lives and the lives of our communities are enhanced by this generosity. Together with my wife, Clare, and our children, Sarah and Matthew, we hope you are touched by the spirit of the season, and that you experience all its hope, light, fulfilment and joy in ways that linger long after the holidays end. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! The very best of the season, Russell MacLellan -30- ngr Dec. 15, 1997 4:20 p.m.
