NOTE TO EDITORS--NEW HOME CARE PLAN TO BE LAUNCHED

A potential model of self-managed home care and one of the
first implementation projects of Nova Scotia's new home care
plan, will be officially launched Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 7 p.m.
at Bloomfield Centre, Room 112, Agricola Street, Halifax. Health
Minister Ron Stewart will be the opening speaker.
Media are invited to attend this event.
Earlier, on that same day, at 11:30 a.m. media are invited
to the home of Margot Parker, Apt. 1202, 5959 Spring Garden Road,
to see self-managed home care in action. Ms. Parker, a person
with multiple sclerosis is one of 10 participants in the self-
managed home care implementation project. She and her home care
attendant have agreed to speak with the media.
Dr. Stewart will also be visiting Ms. Parker at the same
time.
All members of the media planning to visit Ms. Parker must
confirm attendance by calling Chris Hansen, 424-5925 before 10:00
a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 11.
