NOTE TO EDITORS/LABOUR--CONSTRUCTION SAFETY ASSOCIATION AWARD

Achievement in workplace health and safety will be recognized by
Labour Minister Guy Brown and representatives of the Nova Scotia
Construction Safety Association at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 20,
in an award ceremony in the Red Room, Province House.
The minister will present construction safety officer awards to
safety professionals and certificates of recognition to a number
of Nova Scotian employers. The minister will also announce the
creation of a scholarship recognizing safety and risk reduction
in the engineering field.
For the past number of years, the provincial government and the
Nova Scotia Construction Safety Association (NSCSA) have been
involved in a successful partnership to promote sound workplace
safety practices in the province's construction industry.
