SPORT AND RECREATION COMMISSION--LIFEGUARD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The 24th annual Nova Scotia Surf Lifeguarding Championships will
be held at Rainbow Haven, Wednesday, Aug. 28, 1996.
One event being featured at the competition is the Ironguard
Event. Ironguard competitors in the men's division will include
1996 Canadian Lifeguard Challenge (CLC) Ironguard champion Dave
LeBlanc, four-time CLC champion and 1994 Maine State Ironguard
champion Jason Cross and members of the championship team at the
Rhode Island Lifeguard Tournament.
The women's division includes members who competed in the
All-Women's Lifeguard Tournament in New York.
The event is scheduled to take place at approximately 1:30 p.m.
The Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service is a joint project of the Nova
Scotia Sport and Recreation Commission and the Canadian Red Cross
Society.
