Glenwood Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 83-319 (March 29, 1983), N.S. Reg. 41/83


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 9th day of March, A.D., 1983, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to:

 

                (a)    constitute all that area of land situate at Glenwood, in the County of Yarmouth, owned by Her Majesty the Queen in right of the Province of Nova Scotia, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-13-33 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

                (b)    declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Glenwood Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”


All that certain lot, piece or parcel of land situate, lying and being at Glenwood, in the County of Yarmouth, Province of Nova Scotia, as shown on Crown Land Records Plan No. E-13-33 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, the said parcel of land being more particularly described as follows:


Beginning at Survey Marker No. Y238 marking the intersection of the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103 with the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector);


From thence (by magnetic bearings in the year 1975) S 59° 34' W following the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector), 186.86 feet to an iron post;


Thence N 81° 50' W continuing to follow the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector), 26.05 feet to an iron post;


Thence S 07° 34' W continuing to follow the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector), 20.31 feet to an iron post;


Thence S 59° 14' W continuing to follow the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector), 18.25 feet to Survey Marker No. Y239, marking the beginning of a curve to the right;


Thence continuing to follow the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector), an arc distance of 138.5 feet more or less to an iron post, said iron post being S 65° 28' W, 138.33 feet from the last described Survey Marker No. Y239;


Thence continuing to follow the northwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 3 (Glenwood Connector), an arc distance of 157.2 feet more or less to a point on the easterly boundary of a public road, said point being S 87° 44' W, 157.01 feet from the last described iron post;


Thence N 17° 45' E following an easterly boundary of the said public road (road leading into Glenwood Provincial Park), 196.21 feet to a point, said point being on the northerly boundary and also being at the end of the public portion of the road leading into Glenwood Provincial Park;


Thence N 65° 11' W crossing the end of the public portion of the road leading into Glenwood Provincial Park, 66.34 feet to Survey Marker No. Y241 situated at the northeasterly angle of lands now or formerly of Stanley F. Roberts;


Thence continuing N 65° 11' W following a northerly boundary of lands now or formerly of Stanley F. Roberts, 121.64 feet to Survey Marker No. Y242;


Thence S 77° 20' W following a northwesterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Stanley F. Roberts, 153.12 feet to Survey Marker No. Y243;


Thence N 31° 53' W following a northeasterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Stanley F. Roberts, 153.52 feet to Survey Marker No. Y244 situated on a southeasterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Agnes MacEllingwood;


Thence N 56° 00' E following a southeasterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Agnes MacEllingwood, 78.05 feet to Survey Marker No. Y245;


Thence N 16° 22' W following a northeasterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Agnes MacEllingwood, 103.55 feet to Survey Marker No. Y246;


Thence S 64° 34' W following a northwesterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Agnes MacEllingwood, 287.02 feet to an angle thereof;


Thence S 57° 29' W continuing to follow a northwesterly boundary of lands now or formerly of Agnes MacEllingwood, 164.70 feet to Survey Marker No. Y247 situated on the ordinary high water mark of a small brook;


Thence in a generally northwesterly direction following the several courses of the ordinary high water mark of the said small brook, 380 feet more or less to the shore of Ricker Lake;


Thence in a generally easterly, northerly and westerly direction following the several courses of the ordinary high water mark of the eastern shore of Ricker Lake, 7520 feet more or less to a point;


Thence N 08° 56' 20" W (by grid bearings referenced to the Nova Scotia 3° Modified Transverse Mercator Projection, Zone 5, central meridian 64° 30' west longitude), 3 feet more or less to Survey Marker No. Y394;


Thence continuing N 08° 56' 20" W following an easterly boundary of lands of various owners, 2118.33 feet to Survey Marker No. Y395;


Thence continuing N 08° 56' 20" W following the said easterly boundary of lands of various owners, 60.00 feet to a point on the southwesterly boundary of the aforementioned Nova Scotia Highway No. 103;


Thence S 45° 25' 10" E following the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 820.38 feet to an iron bar marking the beginning of a curve to the right;


Thence continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 1544.61 feet along the arc of a curve to the right having a radius of 5630.0 feet, to Survey Marker No. Y228, said Survey Marker being S 37° 00' 00"E, 1539.77 feet from the last described Iron Bar;


Thence continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, along the arc of said curve to the right, 150.50 feet to the end of curve thereof;


Thence S 09° 13' E (by magnetic bearings in the year 1975) continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 2672.73 feet to Survey Marker No. Y232;


Thence S 20° 39' W following a westerly boundary of lands of Gordon Spinney, 357.52 feet to Survey Marker No. Y233;


Thence S 41° 40' E following a southwesterly boundary of lands of Gordon Spinney, 331.66 feet to Survey Marker No. Y234 situated on the aforementioned southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103;


Thence S 09° 13' E following the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 316.49 feet to Survey Marker No. Y235 marking the beginning of a curve to the left;


Thence continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 56 feet more or less along the said arc of a curve to the left to Survey Marker No. Y236, said Survey Marker being S 10° 33' E, 55.95 feet from the last described Survey Marker No. Y235;


Thence continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 88 feet more or less along the said arc of a curve to the left to Survey Marker No. Y237, said Survey Marker being S 11° 54' E, 87.45 feet from the last described Survey Marker No. Y236;


Thence continuing to follow the southwesterly boundary of Nova Scotia Highway No. 103, 454 feet more or less along the said arc of a curve to the left to the place of beginning, said place of beginning being S 21° 31' E, 453.08 feet from the last described Survey Marker No. Y237;


The above described parcel of land contains an area of 100.4 acres, more or less.
