Queensland Beach Provincial Park Designation

made under Section 8 of the

Provincial Parks Act

R.S.N.S. 1989, c. 367

O.I.C. 80-663 (May 20, 1980), N.S. Reg. 85/80


The Governor in Council on the report and recommendation of the Minister of Lands and Forests dated the 7th day of May, A.D., 1980, and pursuant to Section 2 of Chapter 244 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1967, the Provincial Parks Act, is pleased to

 

       (a)    constitute all that area of land and land covered by water situate at Queensland, in the County of Halifax, to be a Provincial Park, the said area of land and land covered by water being described in Schedule “A” and shown outlined in red on the copy of Crown Land Records Plan No. E-9-53 marked Schedule “B”, both Schedules attached to and forming part of the report and recommendation; and

 

       (b)    declare that the park shall be known by the name of “Queensland Beach Provincial Park”.



Schedule “A”

Queensland Beach Provincial Park


All those certain two lots, pieces or parcel of land situate, lying and being near Queensland, in the County of Halifax, in the Province of Nova Scotia as shown on Plan No. E-9-53 filed in the Crown Land Records Office, Department of Lands and Forests, Halifax, and being more particularly described as follows:


Lot No. 1

Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post No. 5251 situate where the southern boundary of Highway No. 3 meets the northern boundary of a Public Road leading across Queensland Beach;


From thence in an easterly direction along the southern boundary of Highway No. 3 a distance of 170', more or less, to a point marked “A”on the abovementioned plan;


Thence due south a distance of 34', more or less, to a point marked “B” on the aforesaid plan being on or near the mean high watermark of St. Margaret’s Bay;


Thence in a southwesterly direction along the mean high water mark of St. Margaret’s Bay a distance of 1390', more or less, to a point marked “C” on the aforesaid plan and being the intersection of the mean high water line of St. Margaret’s Bay and the western boundary of the outlet stream of Queensland Lake;


Thence following the various courses of the western boundary of the aforesaid outlet stream and the mean high water mark of Queensland Lake a distance of 4600', more or less, to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5254 marking a southern corner of lands of Malcolm Seaboyer;


Thence (by astronomic bearings) N 58° 31' 28" E along a southern boundary of the said Seaboyer lands a distance of 56.02' to a point;


Thence N 19° 46' 15" W along an eastern boundary of the said Seaboyer lands a distance of 50.36' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5255;


Thence N 29° 45' 18" E along a southern boundary of the said Seaboyer lands a distance of 62.16' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5256 situate on the southern boundary of the aforesaid Highway No. 3;


Thence in an easterly direction (by a left circular curve having a radius of 553.00') along the southern boundary of the said Highway No. 3 an arc distance of 329.76' to the place of beginning.


The above described Lot No. 1 containing 24.48 acres, more or less.


Lot No. 2

Beginning at Crown Land Iron Post No. 5257 set where the northeastern boundary line of Highway No. 3 intersects the northwestern boundary line of lands of Ronald Ewing, the said Crown Land Iron Post being (by astronomic bearing) N 26° 34' 24" W, a distance of 172.14' from Crown Land Iron Post No. 5256;


From thence N 45° 17' 57" W, along the northeastern boundary line of the said Highway No. 3, a distance of 66.25' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5258, set at the southeastern corner of lands now or formerly of MacIntosh;


Thence N 38° 35' 53" E, along the said MacIntosh lands, a distance of 91.0' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5259;


Thence N 45° 17' 57" W, along the said MacIntosh lands, and lands of Colp and Gesner, a distance of 150.00' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5260;


Thence S 38° 18' 34" W, along the Gesner lands, a distance of 84.65' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5261 set on the northeastern boundary line of lands of Arthur Seaboyer;


Thence N 25° 40' 19" W, along the said Arthur Seaboyer lands, a distance of 398.55' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5262, set on the southeastern boundary line of lands of Bruce Seaboyer;


Thence N 52° 42' 16" E, along the said Bruce Seaboyer lands, a distance of 199.99' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5263 set where the southeastern boundary line of the said Bruce Seaboyer lands intersects the southwestern boundary line of lands of Patrick H. Kennedy, and the southern boundary line of the right-of-way of the Canadian National Railway;


Thence S 26° 01' 58" E, along the Patrick H. Kennedy lands, a distance of 580.91' to Crown Land Iron Post No. 5264, marking a northern corner of lands of Ronald Ewing;


Thence S 38° 35' 53" W, along the said Ronald Ewing lands, a distance of 147.43' to the place of beginning. The above described Lot No. 2 containing 2.29 acres, more or less.
