Long Lake Nature Reserve Ecological Site Designation

made under Section 14 of the

Special Places Protection Act

I, Mark Parent, Minister of Environment for the Province of Nova Scotia, pursuant to Section 14 of Chapter 438 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Special Places Protection Act, hereby designate the area of land described in Schedule A and shown on the map in Schedule B, attached to and forming part of this order, as an ecological site, to be known as Long Lake Nature Reserve.


This designation is effective on and after the date it is published in the Royal Gazette.

Description of Long Lake Nature Reserve


All that certain tract of land shown outlined in bold line as identified on Compiled Plan Showing Block 43 Crown Land, filed in the Department of Natural Resources Office at Halifax, under Field Plot P-036/08, said tract of land located at Long Lake, Lunenburg County, Province of Nova Scotia.


Containing a total area of 261 hectares, more or less.


Being and intended to be all those lands registered as:

Municipal Government Act compliance statement

The parcel is exempt from the requirement for subdivision approval under the Municipal Government Act pursuant to s. 268(2)(b) because the parcel results from an expropriation.

I, Randy Delorey, Minister of Environment for the Province of Nova Scotia, pursuant to Section 14 of Chapter 438 of the Revised Statutes of Nova Scotia, 1989, the Special Places Protection Act, hereby designate the area of land described in Appendix A and shown on the map attached as Appendix B as an addition to the Long Lake Nature Reserve ecological site, originally designated by the Minister of Environment and approved by the Governor in Council by Order in Council 2008-538 dated October 15, 2008, N.S. Reg. 411/2008.


Pursuant to subsection 14(3) of the Act, this designation is effective on and after the date it is published in the Royal Gazette.


In accordance with subsection 14(6) of the Act, this designation will be registered in the registry of deeds office for the registration district in which the lands are situated.

All and singular that certain lot, piece or parcel of land and land covered by water located in the County of Lunenburg, Province of Nova Scotia, shown outlined in bold line as Long Lake Nature Reserve Addition on Field Plot P-059/15, filed at the Surveys Division at the Department of Natural Resources, Halifax, Nova Scotia, and containing an area of 398 hectares more or less.
