IMAGE INFORMATION

Clara Dennis wrote: "Once a year, the last week in July...the Indians of the province gather at a little island off St. Peters in the Bras d'Or. Here they hold a ten-days' Mission....I parked my car on the shore of the Bras d'Or. An Indian boy rowed me across the water to Chapel Island." [Clara Dennis. Cape Breton Over. Toronto, Ryerson Press, 1934:50] She visited Chapel Island, then called Indian Island, in July 1930, for the St. Anne's Day celebrations.
