The pipe is out of focus and almost invisible. Alex was the putu's, keeper of the ceremonial wampum belts, read each year at the St. Anne's Day celebrations (the week of 26 July) at Indian Island, now Chapel Island, N.S. The present whereabouts of the wampum belts is unknown.
