IMAGE INFORMATION
Gabriel Sylliboy was the son of Mary Barrington (widow of Benjamin Basque) and her second husband, a Sylliboy. He was a highly respected and loved Grand Chief. Every St. Anne's Day, when he addressed the congregation, he would climb up onto the stage, saying, "E'he, muin toqjua'tl stepl a': the bear is climbing the stairs."
