In felt-tip on reverse: "Daniel Matthew Phillips/ "Dennis"/ son of Andrew Phillips, Mi'kmaq/ of Bear River, NS, & Lequille, NS/ Died of Heart Attack while eating chicken sandwich." Dennis's mother, Mary Cecelia Devoe, was a Maliseet woman from Woodstock, NB. One of a series of eight (1998.8.1-8) donated to the Nova Scotia Museum by Richard Dyer. This is a photo of his mother's brother, shown seated in a restaurant, smoking a cigarette and wearing a baseball cap.
