Description
This is to advise that on December 19, 2013, Alternative Resource Energy Authority will register the Ellershouse Wind Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to construct and operate a 16.1 MW wind project at a site in the community of Ellershouse, approximately 11 km southeast of Windsor, Nova Scotia in the Municipality of the District of West Hants. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence mid 2014 with operations to begin in 2015.
Minister's Decision
On February 17, the Minister of Environment released a decision (PDF:394k) a concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:394k).
