Description
This is to advise that on December 11, 2015 Scotian WindFields Inc., Scotian Wind Inc., SWEB Development Inc. and WEB Wind Energy North America Inc. registered an Addendum
(PDF:8.3mb) for the proposed Hardwood Lands Community Wind Project for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to construct and operate a 6.0 MW Wind Project at a site in the community of Hardwood Lands, approximately 7.1 km northeast of the community of Nine Mile River, Nova Scotia in the Municipality of the District of East Hants. Pending approval to proceed, construction is anticipated to commence Spring/Summer 2016 with operations to begin Summer 2016.
Minister's Decision
On February 10, 2016 the Minister of Environment released a decision (PDF:32k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:165k).
