Description
The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to develop and operate an on-site glycol concentration facility in an industrial area of the Halifax International Airport. The facility will be used to handle and recycle spent air-craft de-icing fluids. Under the Environmental Assessment Regulations, an undertaking that is a permanent facility for the handling of waste dangerous goods is a Class 1 undertaking. The Minister will make a decision on this undertaking no later than March 4, 2002.
Minister's Decision
On March 1, 2002, the Minister of Environment and Labour released a decision (PDF:15k) concerning Inland Technologies Canada Inc.'s Glycol Concentration Handling Facility, at the Halifax International Airport, Halifax County, Nova Scotia. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13 (1)(b) of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act.
The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:13k). The proponent is required to obtain all other necessary approvals, permits or authorizations before commencing work on the undertaking.
