Description

This is to advise that on April 17, 2013 Dexter Construction Company Limited registered the Middlewood Quarry Expansion for environmental assessment, in accordance with Part IV of the Environment Act.

The purpose of the proposed undertaking is to to expand an existing quarry located at 890 Hirtle Road, Middlewood, Lunenburg County, for the continuing purpose of extracting and supplying aggregate for the road and constructing industry.

Minister's Decision

On June 6, the Minister of Environment released a decision (PDF:32k) concerning this review. The Minister has decided to approve the undertaking in accordance with Section 13(1)b of the Environmental Assessment Regulations, pursuant to Part IV of the Environment Act. The undertaking has been approved subject to a number of conditions (PDF:242k).
