Lake Egmont

Lake Egmont This small site in the Musquodoboit Valley, near Lake Egmont, contains a forest of large old hardwood and red spruce trees growing amongst gypsum sinkholes, vernal pools, and talus slopes. It provides excellent overwintering habitat for bats and adds to the limited representation of gypsum habitats in the provincial protected areas system. These habitats are among the least protected and most threatened in the province.
