Skull Bog Lake Nature Reserve is located in the interior of Annapolis County and protects one of the few remaining concentrations of old growth white pine, red spruce, eastern hemlock forests in the region.

This nature reserve also includes three small lakes and frontage on two others.

Close to half the boundary is along the Old Liverpool Road and trunk forest access roads; use of these roads is unaffected by the designation.

The reserve is easily accessed off Old Liverpool Road, offering opportunities for old growth forest viewing and education.
