Disabled Persons Weapon Discharge Permit

Who Needs This Permit?
A disabled person who wants to discharge a firearm from a vehicle while hunting wildlife.

Any of the Local or Area Offices of the N.S. Department of Natural Resources. (See Offices, N.S. Department of Natural Resources.)

Application Forms & Process:
An applicant must apply in person at an Area Office of the NS Department of Natural Resources.

Any person who has Accessible Parking Zone Permit or Plates.

Waiting Period:
None

Expiry & Renewal:
This permit is valid for the length of the current hunting season.  Once it expires, it is invalid, and you have to get a new one.

Additional Information:
  1. T he holder of this permit must comply with all other hunting regulations.

  2. The permit authorizes the discharge of a weapon: (a) from inside a stationary vehicle which has its motor turned off; and, (b) in an area where a firearm may legally be discharged.

  3. The permit holder must be accompanied by another person who is able to retrieve any wildlife taken.
