Recognized Authority Licence

Who Needs This Licence?
Any commercial transportation company or organization wishing to be appointed as a “Recognized Authority” which will permit the “Signing Authority” to issue Certificates of Competence. The Certificates of Competence certifies that an individual is competent to operate a particular class of vehicle.

Application Forms & Process:

You can get an application form by:

1)  Downloading a form from our website; or
2)  Calling one of the phone numbers listed above.

The Department will go through an approval process in keeping with the Classification of Drivers Licenses Regulations. If all requirements are met and the application is approved, the licence will be mailed to the applicant.  

Waiting Period:
10 business days
Provided that all the items that must accompany the application have been received
(Please allow several extra days for mail delivery.)
Expiry & Renewal:
This licence is valid until December 31 of the calendar year in which it is issued.  It is renewable; the Department will send out a renewal notice  before it expires.
Price:  (No tax is charged)

Initial Application: $133.25

Annual Renewal:  $66.00

Payment by mail:   Please pay by cheque or money order made out to the Minister of Finance.
