Driver's Licence Refund
Refunds on a driver's licence may be given:
- If the Registrar cancels the driver's licence
- If the driver's licence holder returns it for any reason
The refund amount shall be based on the number of full unused
months remaining in the licence period, less an administration fee of $13.18 plus HST.
No refund will be made where the applicant is entitled to less
than $3.00.
The $11.90 fee for the production of the photo licence is
non-refundable.
Procedure for refund:
A driver's licence (or proof that your licence was surrendered
to another jurisdiction) accompanied by a refund
application (PDF) may be submitted at any of the Registry of Motor Vehicles office or mailed to:

Refund cheques are issued by the Department of Finance.
Allow 2 to 3 weeks for processing and mailing.
