Fuel Safety (Company) Licence

Who Needs This Licence?
Any firm or business engaged in (1) storing and distributing propane; (2) installing, repairing, servicing or maintaining appliances, containers, gas equipment or gas piping systems; or (3) Operating a natural gas vehicle refueling or cylinder filling station.

Expiry & Renewal:

The licence is valid for 3 years, expiring on December 31st. It can be renewed, and a renewal notice will be mailed before it expires.

Renewing Online:
Renewals can be completed online through Access to Business. To complete the renewal online, you must be able to pay by Visa, MasterCard or American Express Credit Card. We cannot accept any form of Debit cards at this time.

Price:  (no tax is charged)

Initial Application:

  1. For a "Class 1" licence

    1. bulk plant/dispenser (aggregate storage capacity):  $0.0528 per USWG
      minimum fee - $132.70

    2. cylinder handling only: $132.70

    3. bulk transporter only: $132.70

  2. For a "Class 2" licence $132.70

    1. $265.45

  3. For a "Class 3" licence $132.70

  4. For a "Class 4" licence $132.70

Annual Renewal: $132.70 (minimum fee)

Class 2A: $199.05

Note:  Licence fees include the cost of inspection services under subsection 25(3).

Payment by mail: Please pay by cheque or money order, made out to the Minister of Finance.

A separate licence is needed for each location operated by the business.
