Quarter-over-quarter (all countries, seasonally adjusted, Q4 2023 vs. Q3 2023)
Canada's current account receipts increased $4.53 billion to $309.22 billion while current account payments increased $1.41 billion to $310.84 billion. The resulting net current account deficit narrowed by $4.10 billion to $1.62 billion in Q4 2023.
Goods exports were up $2.86 billion to $195.04 billion while goods imports increased $0.29 biillion to $192.03 billion. The goods balance changed from a $0.44 surplus in Q3 2023 to a surplus of $3.01 billion in Q4 2023.
Services exports were up $1.20 billion to $51.86 billion while services imports increased $0.55 billion to $53.63 billion. The services deficit narrowed by $0.65 billion to $1.76 billion in Q4 2023.
Primary income receipts increased $0.43 billion to $57.69 billion while primary income payments increased $0.33 billion to $59.22 billion. The primary income deficit narrowed by $0.09 billon to $1.53 billion in Q4 2023.
Secondary income receipts decreased $0.05 billion to $4.64 billion while secondary income payments increased by $0.23 billion to $5.97 billion. The resulting net secondary income deficit widened by $0.19 billion to $1.33 billion in Q4 2023.
