US TRADE BALANCE, MARCH 2024

Month over month (March 2024 vs February 2024)

The United States goods and services deficit narrowed by $86 million to $69.4 billion. The goods deficit widened by $829 million to $92.5 billion and, the services surplus widened by $915 million to $23.1 billion.

Total exports decreased $5.3 billion to $257.6 billion. Goods exports decreased $5.1 billion to $171.3 billion and services exports decreased $185 million to $86.4 billion.

Total imports decreased $5.4 billion to $327.0 billion. Goods imports decreased $4.3 billion to $263.8 billion and services imports decreased $1.1 billion to $63.2 billion.

Year over year (March 2024 vs March 2023)

The US trade deficit widened by $9.8 billion. The goods deficit widened by $11.4 billion and, the services surplus widened by $1.6 billion.

Total exports decreased by $72 million. Goods exports decreased $4.9 billion and services exports increased $4.9 billion.

Total imports increased $9.7 billion. Goods imports increased $6.5 billion  and services imports increased $3.2 billion.
