Council of the Federation Literacy Award

Nova Scotia is pleased to open the nomination process for the Council of the Federation Literacy Award.  This national award recognizes and celebrates outstanding achievement, innovative practice and excellence in literacy.  It was first granted in 2004 by Canada’s Premiers and is given annually in each province and territory for outstanding achievement in the field of literacy. 

Deadline to submit nominations is 17 June 2024.

Who can be nominated?

To be eligible, the nominee must

  • be an adult literacy learner, at least 18 years of age and out of the regular public school system
  • be a resident of Nova Scotia
  • have made outstanding progress in his or her learning
  • have demonstrated leadership in his or her community, workplace and/or school
