New Features: MyPATH Self-Service Portal

We recently launched two exciting new tools for students – Mobile MyPATH and the MyPATH Uploader.

The MyPATH Uploader

Students no longer need to fax, mail or drop off their documents to the Student Assistance Office (although they still can). The new MyPATH Uploader lets users upload their documents to our secure student portal and directly to their personal student assistance account. This makes the application process much more convenient and fast for all students, and may even save them money. It may be especially valuable to those students who live and study outside the metro area, or even outside the country.

The Green Advantage:

The MyPATH Uploader function will significantly reduce the amount of paper that is faxed and mailed to our office each year. We received more than 150,000 sheets of paper by mail or fax during the 2012-2013 academic year. If all of those pages are submitted via the uploader instead, that would represent enough paper – lined up end to end – to reach roughly 50 kilometers.

Map: More than the distance between A&K Lick-A-Chick to Baddeck.

Map: More than the distance from Pizza Corner to the airport.

The Benefits to Students:

The upload function has other benefits as well. When a student submits their documentation using the uploader:

  • It will show them that we’ve received their document
  • Assessors will automatically see that the file needs attention
  • Students can track their document status through not completed, processing and completed
  • Accepting digital docs directly will speed up our processing time
  • Information submitted by students will automatically, immediately be linked to their personal file

Mobile MyPATH

Students now have all their personal loan and grant information right in their back pocket.

Mobile MyPATH allows students to easily access their student assistance information from anywhere, at any time, using their smart phone or other mobile device. The site detects the mobile device and delivers users to the mobile version of MyPATH. Users can easily choose the opt-out link to bypass the mobile version if they prefer to use the full-featured version of MyPATH.

Mobile MyPATH was designed specifically for mobile users who wish to check their account but not carry out more complex actions. A great tool for student borrowers on the go!

We are very excited to offer students both of these new MyPATH features.
