The Road Is Our Workplace

The Government of Nova Scotia is spending $235-million to build and improve roads in the province in 2014/15. Hundreds of workers are employed across the province doing this valuable job.

Drivers have a role to play, too:

  • Watch for construction zones
  • Use caution
  • Slow down
  • Obey construction zone signs
  • Obey traffic-control people

The government and the Nova Scotia Road Builders Association remind you that a moment's inattention could cost a life!

Fines are doubled and demerit points are assigned to driver's records for speeding in work zones. Fines start at $348.95 and can rise to more than $2,400 depending on other factors.
